| Customer Reviews: Very Pleased Customer May 17, 2010 G. Powell (Va.) Hey Guys...Your Leather Zune case is the Mother of all Cases!!! Please keep up the Good work, Your case shows you truly put effort and quality to the forefront. Thankyou Very much
Beautiful, but with some worries.... May 7, 2008 R. Rahman (MD United States) 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
Just got the case, and one problem, at least from an aesthetic angle, is that it doesn't come in a box, it comes wrapped in plastic, like a Twinkie, with a single cardboard placard containing all the Incipio introduction and warranty information. Admittedly, it's not something that needs a technical manual to operate, but a little better presentation would have been appreciated. (But then again, maybe it's more eco-friendly....)
As for the case itself, it's a little lighter in color (as of right now) than in the picture, more like a rawhide pink than brown, but still very pretty. Speaking of pink, the inside of the case has pink thread in the stitching, as well as pink on the inside of the sleeve holding the Zune. Most of this will be covered up when the Zune is in. It's very soft to the touch, and feels good, though my naturally pessimistic self worries that it will start wrinkling sooner rather than later.
Inside, you slip the Zune sideways into the sleeve (my 80 GB fit very snugly), where there are openings for the USB port on the bottom, and it is open at the corners on the top for the Hold button and the headphone jack. Plenty of room for both.
The screen is covered with clear plastic, and mine came clean and clear, no scratches. You can see the screen vividly.
There is an opening between the plastic and the bottom of the case for the motion controls and the Play and Back buttons. The buttons are a little close to the edge, obscuring them a little, but it's not a big deal.
The biggest worry I have is the button/clasp to close the case. Once the Zune is in, the top of the button that needs to come over the side is now a little too far away for an easy, immediate snap. You have to push the cover as far as you can so that the top and bottom of the button are aligned enough to clasp. But the bigger problem is that you have to apply pressure to close the button RIGHT OVER THE SCREEN! The bottom of the button is not poking through the cover on the inside, it's covered with cloth, which is good, and the plastic screen is also covering the Zune screen, but I worry that too much pressure might dent or crack the screen. Of course, I knew about the button before purchasing it, I wanted to be able to close the case securely, and it does do that well, so I took the chance when I bought it. Just be careful when throwing your Zune into a backpack or purse.
Also, a belt clip or something on the back would have been nice.
All in all, I think The Duke is a little over-priced ($20 would have been more fair) but it is a very beautiful case and I'm sure it will protect my Zune very well.
