Handy little device to have. December 12, 2009 Steven Simmons (High Point, NC) This is a quick way to have power handy when you need it. Very useful when being away from a power source for extended periods of time, say when you are camping.
Good February 15, 2010 Joel (Plano, TX USA) Nothing wrong with this battery pack as I have been using it with my iPhone 3G for a couple months. The life of this battery is probably about 60% of the iPhone battery, i.e. it'll charge the iPhone battery to about 60% from almost dead.
Emergency back-up May 18, 2010 Kathryn E. Howell (Odenton, MD USA) I purchased this at a kiosk in the local mall. It is a great tool, compact and easy to use. It just plugs into your charging cord and doesn't take long to charge. I keep it in my purse so if I am in a situation where I can't easily charge my iphone. Actually I gave my charger this past week to my daughter for her iphone, so I will be purchasing another to replace.
BTW...the cost here is a lot cheaper than what it cost me in the mall ($35). Everytime I went back to the kiosk to purchase another they were out. Other vendors wanted to charge $50, so I definitely will be purchasing on Amazon.
Low Price, Small, it works. July 1, 2010 Russell Krauss (Jamestown, NC United States) It's small and non-cumbersome. It does the job without taking up a lot of space. Charging the iPhone seems to be slow compared to a different brand that I had. It does not stay in the iphone well.
Bricked my iPhone October 25, 2009 Mister Lawyer (California) 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
1) I received this in the mail. 2) I plugged it into my 32GB iPhone 3GS that was a couple months old and working fine. 3) about 10 hours later (the next morning) I unplugged it and the iPhone was completely nonfunctional. Totally dead. A BRICK.
Additional info: The iPhone had a screen protector on it. When I unplugged it in the morning, the edge of the screen protector seemed to have come off a little on its own. I see this as a clue that perhaps the external battery unit had somehow made the iPhone overheat. Perhaps this excessive heat is what rendered the iPhone nonfunctional.
Bottom line: This cheap Chinese-made device apparently bricked my iPhone. I'm surprised that 15 minutes of Googling around hasn't turned up any similar experiences with this device, so maybe this was just a bad-luck fluke. YMMV.
